Fall is here and I've been staying pretty busy over at the shop, so I've neglected to update this page yet again. Anyways, here is some of what I've been up to.

1st session of this tribute to m'lady's rats. Really looking forward to coloring this.

My buddy Ken was in town and we decided to do a deadly coffee cup over breakfast one morning. Appropriately placed over his belly!

Did a straight up compass on a nice walk-in client. I just really like this one.

Fun abstracted pastel rose. I want to do more like this, so if you are interested in one, I will cut you a deal. Hit me up!

Continued on with Josh's sleeve that we're piecing together. Did a sweet Viper Eel. The goal is to do a whole deep sea sleeve. Fun stuff. Can't wait to do the color.

So it's been a while. I make no promises since I seem to break them when it comes to updating this frequently, but here ya go! I just finished a new piece. I should have prints of it available soon. Hopefully a complete website overhaul in the coming months too. I have a lot of new work to post. In the meantime I have a piece I'm working on for the "Idiot Box" group show at Gallery 1988 in LA. More on that soon....maybe?

East meets West

So I have returned from my east coast excursion. I had a blast. The Fuji bike show was amazing. So many incredible bikes! It was great to see friends and family. Not so great was the humidity. Painting the gun was fun. I don't normally paint mechanical things.

It was strange painting both sides of a piece, especially since this was shaped so strange. Functional art. Yeah, this will be a good show. I wont be making it to the opening unfortunately. Air fare is far too high right now. I'll see you Philadelphians in October though for my show at Mew Gallery.

I am sorry to have neglected this blog for so long. Transition is hard. I am now settled in here in good ol' Portland. I have to say it's quite lovely and I have been very fortunate since arriving. I got a great part time gig cooking at a sweet all vegan bar nearby. If your in town stop by the Bye and Bye and I'll make you something delicious.

I am finishing up a piece for a benefit group show over at Distinction Gallery which opens August 9th alongside some really great artists. It's for a good cause too, so check it out if you can. distinctionart.com

My custom Fuji bike will also be on display in Philadelphia on August 1st at their emerging artist custom bike series show. More details to come on that. You can stop in Jinxed Clothing for more info on that.

Next year should be great though. I'll be having a solo show over at Alpha Cult in Long Beach and work in some group shows over at Gallery 1988 as well as Kidrobot in New York.

I'm mostly going to be holed up getting ready for my 3 person show over at Distinction in September. I'll periodically post progress between now and then. Promise. In the meantime, I'm temporarily out of prints on my website, but you can still pick some up from Art Star or Mew Gallery in Philadelphia. I hope to have some new higher quality prints available soon too. Perhaps my first Giclee? We'll see. <3 -Isaac

Danny and I made some bomb ass food tonight. We're both obsessed with figuring out our diets and eating well. Sometimes we do okay, and often we give in to temptation and eat total shit. Tonight we did a good job I would say.

Avocado Soup Mother Fuckers! Avocado, lemon, parsley, celery, spirulina, pumpkin seeds, dulce, and cilantro. Best way to roll into Spring with the perfect mostly raw soup.

Our second course consisted of rice noodles with carrots, onions, daikon covered with almond miso ginger dressing, garnished with a little more dulce, parsley and nutritional yeast. All in all a good night.

We didn't forget to give thanks.

With recent news of friends getting arrested for protesting our 6th year of war I was gonna go into a political rampage and instead decided to post pictures of food....but what the hell, here's the dick that keeps on shitting: The man lawyers duck when they see, trying to "stay the course", tellin you what he thinks of public opinion.

It's been getting nicer outside. I'm excited for Spring, my second favorite season next to Fall. I'm still spending too much time indoors though. I went to a bird sanctuary a few weeks ago and it was amazing. Those little white dots are birds.

This is the beginning stages of a piece I'm working on for my show at Distinction in September.

I finished this recently for my show at The Lab 101 in May.

Here's the one I'm currently working on. I'm still figuring out oil, so I am sort of switching back and forth between that and acrylic for the time being.

My Philly days are numbered. I will be relocating to Portland Oregon at the end of May. Super psyched and sad all at once. It will be good though.

Prints are now available on the site if you haven't already noticed. Please buy one, as it helps out my cross country trek a few months from now. I will be having a few events in Philly before I go. Locals can catch me at the Big Art Show on April 26th. I will have prints and original work available there. Everything must go! I will also be having a going away art party, selling lots of original work for pretty cheap.

You still have a chance to check out my show's at Art Star and the CFEVA here in Philly. The both come down the first week in April.

Other than all that, I'm just getting ready for a 3 person show at The Lab 101 in LA at the end of May and then Distinction in September. I'll post some work in progress shots soon. If you are interested in an original painting please drop me a line. -I

winter blues go away

I've been sick. I'm sorry. I promise not to do it again. I also promise to update this more often. I redesigned the ol' website as you can see. My solo show at Art Star is up now and runs until the 6th of April. So if you haven't seen it yet, check it out!

I have a few pieces in a group show that opens next Friday here in Philly at the CFEVA. Here's a picture from a piece I just finished for it.

I started some new work in oil. I missed working in that medium. I love acrylic, and I think I finally got the hang of it, but seriously, oil is where it's at! So vibrant, so easy to blend and so beautiful. Its a shame the stuff is so hazardous for your health. I probably shouldn't be painting with them in my room.

I'm off to check out the Scion art tour jam down in old city. Don't forget, this Sunday is daylight savings! Finally I'll see some sunshine again. Cheers friends.

Travels and Adventures

I'm back in Portland. I drove down the coast to Escondido and back. When I got here it rained for a week, typical Portland winter weather, but I suppose it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It kind of just pisses on you perpetually. There's some incredible food here though. Breakfast joints in Portland are out of control. Good coffee too. They don't mess around here. It's called the sunshine of the northwest. Everyplace does foam art. Makes me wish I was more into coffee. It began with me renting a car and posting a ride share on craigslist. I picked up my passengers early in the AM and we set off. 10 hours drives are nicer in a rental. Ipods help too.

My first stop was the golden city of San Francisco. I stayed with my good friend, former room mate, Brian Tight Pants. I rolled into SF around 10pm and immediately began drinking. After a long night's sleep I only felt a mild hangover. We got some veg thai in the city before I set off for the museums and galleries.

I got some crazy good eggplant and tofu dish.

Brian's room mate has an awesome horned lizard. She was very friendly.

We went out to the bar. I like west coast bars because it's standard practice to have a room solely for the purpose of dancing. Outside there were some sketch balls. This guy was very inconspicuous.

In addition to his drug habits he was eager to share his ink with us.

I drove down to Santa Barbara, the coast was quite beautiful. I stayed with some old friends and then made my way down to the "Sub 1K" opening at Distinction Gallery. The opening was a blast.

I should have trimmed my beard.

The drive back to SF was beautiful. I stopped in Gilroy, the Garlic capitol of the US...possibly the world? I dunno. I would like to come back here one day for the garlic festival.

The Bus!

It was Punk Rock Joe's Birthday. He's from West Hartford too! Represent!

The Fucking Ocean

Went and saw Antelope and The Fucking Ocean on the "bus". It's a giant ass bus someone in SF converted into a mobile show space. They tore out all the seats, put in a stage, flora, a loft, glass floor window, and basketball hoop. It's possibly the greatest show space I've ever been to/on.

SF is fun. I would like to live there one day. For the most part I ate burritos, which is a given of course, but this place (Cha cha cha's) had some sweet veggie dishes for a mostly non-veggie establishment.

There was a special on weed in the local paper. $10 for an 8th. Free Cosmic Cocktail shot!

Back to Portland. Had a good week here. Probably relocating to the area in the Spring/Summer.

Upcoming Shows and Travel Plans

So this coming week is going to be very crazy. I just finished some ornaments for the Art Star Holiday Art Show. I made 3 block head character sculptures and two little furry animal box head paintings. They will all be available this Saturday at the opening. Very reasonably priced I might add, considering how many hours I spent on them. The process was slow since I had to cut the wood myself, stain it, paint/burn the wood, and assemble everything rather patiently. I had trouble getting the noses to stick at first. I had a blast making these though. More and more I find myself wanting to make sculptural works.

If you live in Philly you should come out for the opening at Art Star next weekend. It should be a blast.

I still have 1 more painting to finish for the "sub 1k" show at Distinction Gallery (Escondido). I'm going to have to sacrifice some sleep this week it appears. I'm also sending some smaller piece/s to Alpha Cult (Long Beach, CA) for a 80's music themed show. I am to paint a picture inspired by a song from the 80's, and they will play all the songs to go along with the art at the opening.

Mostly I am looking forward to spending almost a month on the West Coast. I plan to drink a few beers on the beach and do a whole lot of lounging. If you have suggestions of things to do or see in Portland, Seattle, San Fran, or San Diego/LA fee free to inform me. I can't wait to have warm weather in my life again. Winter = worst season.
